...The movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" is a prime example of perseverance, and how obstacles may come across your path, you just have to overcome them. This relates to quotation one by Michael Jordan. The movie is based on a true story about a man named Chris Gardner. Gardner has invested heavily in a device known as a "Bone Density scanner". He feels like he has made these devices. However, they do not sell as they are marginally better than the current technology at a much higher price. As Gardner tries to figure out how to sell them, his wife leaves him, he loses his house, his bank account, and credit cards. Forced to live out in the streets with his son, he is now desperate to find a steady job. So, he takes on a job as a stockbroker, but before he can receive pay, he needs to go through 6 months of training, and to sell his devices. All while living on the streets with his son. He eventually gets the job, and in due time he creates a multimillion dollar brokerage firm. This movie is an excellent example of perseverance. Chris Gardner had something in him that just made him never give up. This was his drive and tenacity, and that can be said for anyone who has to persevere in anything in life. Obstacles may come across your path, such a homelessness and raising a child by yourself. You just have to persist and overcome these obstacles as Chris Gardner did in his rags to riches life story. This also relates to Tom Dempsey's story, because Tom had to overcome huge obstacles due to the absence of his right foot at birth and the odds were stacked against if he were to ever play sports. However, he never gave up and followed his dream to set and NFL record. Chris also had to overcome huge odds when battling for the stock broker position with many others, while living on the streets and homeless shelters with his son. He also persevered and is now living his dream...
